cannot upload bitmat images to plane shapes.

Good morning, 

Does anyone know what i have to do to upload images on the plane background? The material-apply section appears to be blocked, it is gray and not enabled...

I attached a video, take a look.

You need to create a material that references the bitmap.  You are trying to assign a bitmap directly to an object.  This tutorial may help.
