Of course, it is possible to achieve this in other ways, but it requires additional steps.
Since this is a 'user-to-user' forum primarily, it's unlikely you'll hear from any devs on this but a user in the "know" might be able to share some info. The best way to promote this is to report it officially and to post on the 'Ideas' forum and lay out what's good and bad about it and suggest a fix.
