hi guys

i want to share with you the one thing that annoying me since 2017 and up to 2021 and for my workflow its essential if any one have solution for it will be very helpful

cause want to but i can`t i this issue is to short explain the issue is when backface cull checked on plane (which i turned on on all objects by default from preferences) and i mirror this plane it give it -100 in scale transform then CAN`t select the object from front face it can be selected only from backface which is not right 😟 until i reset XFORM the plane which is not convenient when iam using instanced objects.

There are two options when mirroring. Transform, which you are using and Geometry. If you don't want to invert your mesh, you will want to use the Geometry option.

Hope this helps!

thanks but this is not a solution because it will just add mirror modifier to all instance objects basically will mirror all instance objects not just the one iam selected

Could you use references instead of instances? The issue is, as you know, when you mirror in geometry mode, it scales it by negative. You are essentially inverting it. There isn’t any other way to mirror something. We display the mesh with the normals still pointing the original way, but the mesh is truly inverted. When you turn on back face cull, it sees the geometry as pointing the other direction.
