Camera match, point position.

My question is:

I am using camera match because perpective match is not great for the task I have. However when assigning the point position on screen, it would be (and in previous versions I believe I could) just zoom in using 2D/pan mode on the viewport, so I can actually assign point positions on screen with more precision. However, at the moment, 2D pan mode also moves the screen position of points like they are in 3D world... this makes it much harder to match a camera with precision.

No offense but I do not see a question there. 😉

What version of 3ds Max are you using? Here in 3ds Max 2025, the assigned screen coordinates remain stationary when 2D zoom/pan is enabled and IMHO that makes sense since the screen position is measured in pixels (not fraction of pixels).

If you really have to zoom in you could actually get the 2D pixel locations in your image from any image viewing software and then manually enter them into the Camera Match utility...

By the way, maybe this is useful? https://fspy.io/
