Bake an arnold displacement map to mesh

Bake an arnold displacement map to mesh

I created a terrain object using the Arnold Properties displacement modifier.  It works great, but I need to create an actual mesh I can use so other objects can interact with it.

I see that Maya allows you to bake a displacement modifier to the mesh, but I can't find any information on doing this in Max / Arnold.  Is this functionality simply missing from Max?

You don't necessarily need to bake to mesh. You can use a Displace Modifier that is only visible in the viewport and is off when rendering.

You can see from my original post that I have already created a modifier, but I want to create a mesh because I want other objects to interact with it, (i.e. to "fit to it or to touch the surface where it has been displaced).  Turning the modifier off and on is useful, but unrelated to my question.  Thanks in any case for your response.
