3DSMax 2018 FBX import with Point-Cache = crash

When importing into 3DSMax 2018 an FBX file that includes Point-Cache data, Max will crash. This happened with 2018.0 and also with 2018.4.
It doesn't happen with 2014.
The FBX+PointCache can be created from another application or from the same 3DSMax - but it will still crash upon import.
Can be easily tested with any point-cache. I.E: Create a sphere with a noise modifier that has an animated noise and point-cache that. Create a selection set so that it can be included into the FBX export, and in the export choose that point-cache selection set. Now - on a clean scene import that file with point-cache checked and Max 2018 will crash.
Will be happy to know if anyone has any insight on that.
*(I can import the FBX without the point cache, and then load the point-cache separately - but that's not the point)
