3ds selects entire model instead of individual components

Hallo,

I have imported a STEP-File. Now I want to delete individual components of it (like screws and washers) to delete them. But when I select them, it selects the entire model.

What do I have to adjust?

You should be able to apply an Edit Poly modifier to the entire selection... from there you can sub-object edit the individual components.

DId you try specifying "Using Layer" when you did the import of the stp file?
