I've created a complex, curvy, poly model in 3ds Max and need to export it into a STEP or IGES (compatible with Inventor Solidworks etc.) for the toolmakers to make a pressed glass mould.
I have done this successfully with three other designs in the same series, it takes a while, but it gets there. However, this one is particularly big and heavy and my PC and my supplier's computers just freeze during the conversion process. Can anyone advise me how to get around this?
Maybe I just need a more powerful computer, in which case I’d be very grateful to anyone who can point me in the direction of an utter beast.
