3ds max compatibility matrix

We have a license of 3ds max 2014 and primarily use it to make animations.  We recently updated from Creo 2 to Creo 3, and have found out that we can no longer directly import Creo directly into 3ds max.  It makes sense, as Creo 3 was released in 2015.  I've search through the forums and site, but haven't found a matrix of which versions of 3ds max support which versions of Creo and Solidworks.  Does such a matrix exist?

Hello @Anonymous and welcome to the community,

First, I'd like to apologize that you experienced such a long delay before you got a reply here.  I'd like to help you with this if possible.

There's no official matrix, but I can offer a few links for you regarding this information.  SolidWorks (SLDPRT, SLDASM) Files - As of 3ds Max 2016 you don't need Solidworks installed.  Additionally, 2014/2015 can import Solidworks files as long as you have Direct Connect installed and Solidworks installed and open.

I'm not sure about CREO but I do have this link here which lists the formats supported by Max with links on each one to more information.  Does this help?

Best Regards,

Hello @Anonymous,

Did my previous post help at all?  Is it possible to save out Creo3 files as Creo 2 or something along those lines?
