3Ds Max begins lagging after a while of working but stops lagging when I re-open

I'm using 3Ds Max 2016

My specs are:

GTX 960M

i5 6300HQ @ 2.3 GHz (4 CPUs)

8 GB RAM

Storage SSD only

I find myself constantly having to restart 3Ds Max because it mysteriously begins lagging after let's say 30 minutes of working. After it re-opens it's immediately fast again, until I have to re-open it again. Bug? Memory leak? Is it on my side?

Max stores a lot of stuff in memory while working you can clear out its cache by some simple commands mentioned on this page:

Download and install the latest service pack. 2016 had an extreme bug early on that would consume all your system RAM. That's likely what you are experiencing. Install SP3.
