Just download and install 3ds Max 2022 new version. Can't find any information what are new features in this release. Some reason "What's New" page give 404-error.

I asked because ACAD & co. softwares are already available on AVA; BTW, if it's in subscription accounts, then it'll be in AVA very soon.

Thanks

Any idea if plugins need to be re-compiled?

I have not yet test any plugins, but I assume that everything should work what works on previous version.

I am I the only person that thinks having no previous announcements, and virtually no details on new features is just really strange? Is 3ds Max 2022 even deserving it's own numbered release? At best it looks like a few housekeeping updates and bug fixes...

Even a search on the Autodesk site yields nothing! No info about plugin compatibility either... It doesn't show up on my Desktop Management app. I downloaded it but... I'm definitely not uninstalling Max 2021 anytime soon. Why is it that literally every new numbered release feels like we're asked to be beta testers?

On the one site I did find it announced (AWN) the first listed "feature" was: "Improved Protection Against Malicious Scripts" Guys, that's not a feature! It's you fixing a problem, patching a hole, cleaning up the code; not adding a new and substantially beneficial tool. It's like saying an automobile recall to fix an electronic brake system failure an is actually an "upgrade" LOL.

Yeah, Max has been that way for years. My guess is Autodesk's publicly-traded, bureaucratic corporate culture has destroyed any hope of genuine innovation, not to mention fixing decades old bugs. Just biding my time until Blender matures enough to wipe Autodesk's MAE division off the map.

I was on the beta team years ago. What a mess. Tried to help influence the development of a usable scene state (ala "render layer" system), but my ideas fell on deaf ears, and instead we're stuck with the abomination that is State Sets.
