3ds max 2020 zoom in and out lag

Hello

I'm preparing to switch to 3ds max 2020 (currently using max 2016) but I have a problem. When the cursor is on a relatively high poly geometry and I'm zooming in and out there is an increasing amount of lag (the far the cursor is from the geometry, the more it lags) . The issue can be recreated with the steps in this video.

I'm continuously zooming here. Also check the FPS.

You can also check this video.

It happens only when the cursor is on the geometry.

I hope someone will come up with a solution.

My computer spec:

Windows 10 pro (Version 10.0.17763 Build 17763)

Ryzen 7 1700

Gtx 1070

64 gb of ram

Thanks

PS: I don't have this problem in 3ds max 2016.

I can`t reproduce this with 3dsmax 2020.3. Zoom is soft and smooth, even with 10 mill poly models.

On my Laptop with 8gb and GForce MX150.

First make sure you have the latest update for 3dsmax.

I also would check graphic card drivers, if they are up to date. Also some users had problems with specific mouse drivers.

Thanks for your response. I have already installed the 2020.3 update. I will check the graphic card driver. It is unlikely that it is up to date.

I updated the graphic driver to the last version.

I tried game ready driver and studio driver.

I tried different Display Driver in 3ds max...

The lag is still there.

I will check the mouse driver later. I'm using the Logitech G502 Hero and I wanted to point out that I'm not having the lag associated with mouse Report Rate (when orbiting).

Try to turn off Adaptive Navigation by including:

AdaptiveNavigation=0

in your 3dsmax.ini and see if it make any difference.

It worked! Thank you very much. It is still lagging from time to time but it is much better. I will just add that AdaptiveNavigation=0 have to be put under "[Performance]".

Just a thought, but are you using a 4K monitor, by any chance?  There have been some posts here about issues with 4K monitors. Not sure in your case...

I'm not using a 4k monitor. It is not even full HD.
