3ds max 2018 - floating command panel steals focus from keyboard shortcuts.

Updated to 2018.4

All my custom toolbars disappeared (!!?!)

And ..  .

The command panel stops me using any keyboard shortcut unless the panel is docked.

I now have to do something in the viewport (like middle mouse pan a bit) to allow any keyboard shortcut to work.

Then - once I've use the shortcut - I have to pan again to use another keyboard shortcut.

It doesn't matter which screen the floating command panel is on.

Any ideas will be warmly appreciated.

Windows 10 - Gtx 1080 ti

Cheers,

Marc.

The answer is, of course, to delete EVERYTHING and start again.

Rename ENU folder to remove corrupt workspace etc.

I swear I'm not updating this software ever again.

Just to be clear - deleting the ENU folder doesnt work - or if it does it is _very_ temporary.

This is a MAJOR problem for me - I can NOT believe I'm the only person having to bring focus back to the main window before using ANY keyboard shortcut.

Thought it was just me, hope to find a fix soon. Spend a lot of time now clicking and re-clicking to try and get keyboard focus back to max

Complete delete and reinstall with the latest 3ds Max 2018 installer worked for me - will let you know if it stays that way - so it might be something to do with incremental updating. Just start again! On a side note - uninstalling and reinstalling was quite painless - all my scripts and workspaces stayed in place - just reinstalled renderers and scatterers - all done in less than an hour - well worth it.
