3DS Max 2017 start up issue

Hi all,

 

I am trying to open an existing file on 3DS Max and the start up screen is frozen with only "Initializing 3DS Max" showing.

 

I have left it for at least 10 minutes now and still nothing.

 

Technical support reinstalled it last week and he has made it worse by the look of it.

 

Any suggestions on how to solve this issue please??

Hello @Anonymous and welcome to the community,

 

If you start Max first and then try to open the file, does it work then?  Is this a new installation of Max 2017?  Or, is this specific to this file?  Do you see anything interesting in your event viewer logs?  (Or, could you attach them for me?)  Thanks for the information!
