Hey Guys,
so this is a slight issue for me. When im in my current viewport and press f for front for instance, instead of turning the current viewport to the front perspective, it switches to another viewport tab. How can I stay in the same viewport?
To sum up:
Im in perspective >> i press F for front on the viewport im in >> doesnt turn the current viewport into another but jumps to another viewport.
Question: How can I have max stay in the same viewport? In max 2016 that was no problem at all.
That's not a bug. This is a long awaiting bugfix made in 2017 for changes back in max 2010, see: http://3dsmaxfeedback.autodesk.com/forums/76763-small-feature-requests/suggestions/1109055-switching...
i tried it on my system and it works as intended.
strange issue. have you made any custom keybindings?
I made a .gif to visualize my problems. When viewport isnt maximized it works as it should. Any help appreciated!
As is sayed. This is not a Bug. This is a good way to keep your viewports as they are...
You can fix it with a macroscript.
Something like:
viewport.setType #view_front
If you press F11 and paste the line above in the editor, then you can execute the line by pressing enter.
After confirming that it works, you can select the entire line, and drag drop it onto your UI. That will create a macroscript in your system.
Now you can go and customize your keyboard, and bind F to the new macro. It will be in the category DragAndDrop.
Now you can do the same for the other views:
#view_top
#view_bottom
#view_right
#view_left
#view_front
#view_back
#view_persp_user
#view_iso_user
#view_camera
#view_spot
#view_shape
#view_grid
This is confusing behavior and leads to even more confusing situations than what SharoozAsghar illustrates in that animated GIF. I find it hard to believe the majority of Max users want this.
