3ds max 2014 minimum software requirements

Hello.

I'm setting up a laptop with an i7-4700MQ, 16GB 1600 Mhz RAM, fast 750 GB HDD, Nvidia Quadro K3100M on Win 7 64-bit and wanted to ask the absolute minimum requirements when it comes to sofware, meaning I want to deactivate as many Windows features in cooperation with our IT office as possible to get the rendering as fast as possible.

So far i know that .net Framework 3.5 is required.
What other software or Windows-features are required?

I might even turn off internet functionality so need to know absolutely everything.
I hope someone can help.

Regards,
Michael

That are the hardware requirements. I'm wanting the software requirements like .Net Framework and anything else, so I can leave everything behind which isn't needed.

Everything which is required is installed automatically, including the correct version of .net, DirectX etc. If this is a new install (never had Max on that machine before) it's probably better not to preempt what is required - just let the installer do its job. No idea what else it installs (or more to the point what it doesn't install) - I generally just start the installation and leave it to get on with it.

I know, I know.
You got me wrong.

I don't wanna alter the installation of max, I wanna alter the installation of Windows itself since Windows is eating lots of ressources itself.

That is why i want to know what kind of software from Windows-side is required.... to know what can be removed to have a minimal Windows install.

Im sure that this and not using an Antivirus and other useless applications can boost your PC up to 10%, which can be hours when it comes to rendering high quality animations of high quality and detailed models.

Firewalls and AV are only useless until the day you get hacked or infected. Not a good idea unless the PC is completely isolated from the the 'net or any local network - which kinda rules out any distributed rendering.

If you're after fine-tuning the system there are many sites which specialise in that kind of thing - this isn't really one of them as it deals far more with the the AD software than the underlying OS. It's a pretty big subject as Windows has so many options, when you dig deep enough.

Well alright. I guess no one but Autodesk developers can help me on this one and developers ain't supporters.

I'm out of questions then.

IMHO, the time spent attempting to tweak Windows to get performance improvements will exceed any gains you find.

The absolute, best way of improving rendering performance in the office is to dump the laptop and use an appropriate desktop.  In an office environment the the performance and price restrictions on a laptop will outweigh the benefits of portability.
