3D Studio MAX 2026 issues

First, why is it so hard to find an actual 3D Studio MAX forum?? Is the software being discontinued?!

Next, not sure if I should report these issues somewhere, haven't used Autodesk customer service for a while but there are two issues so far. Each time I open an older scene I have to go to viewport settings because it's completely black and switch to "2 default lights". For some reason "1 default light" is completely black. I even tried saving a new default to be 2 lights, overwritten the old "standard" but it's still black.

Second issue is with the tile map. I literally can't click it's main nor grout texture in standard material editor. I can only add them in slate of course, by connecting.

Agreed the forum is junk and a pain to access, I can get into Vray forum in two clicks.

There are no technical customer support here from 3dsmax employees, just the good will of super users.

I had a problem with Chaos Vantage and within a week they updated the software and rolled it out.

Installed the 2026.2 update today.  Makes no difference, anything with high poly count needing editing and it crashes.  Can't even convert to poly = crash.  Boolean...forget it
