3D Studio Max 2020 - "Product download consists of multiple files" install error

Downloaded latest 2020 onto hard drive to test in work.

Started to install the 2.0GB file and getting this error:

"Product download consists of multiple files. At least one file is missing or has not been downloaded yet."

At least one person has said to 'leave it' and 2020 doesn't work.

I've not seen any fanfare for this release, and assume it's just broken - do you need SDKs?

Will go back to 2019 for a while (it's the most stable Max has ever been), but is this a known problem?

You didn't get both files. I believe the other one is 6GB. Try a different download method to the one you used and see if you get them both. If you do the Download Manager you will. If you do the HTML download you may miss one.

Ok, thanks, that's good to see. I, in fact, had the issue and just changed my download method and downloaded again. That solved it. So, I see that it's more than just a user error thing. I appreciate the link.

I think it's down to the browser(s) i don't think autodesk has not updated the way you can access the file, and people still use IE. Smiley Wink

Hello, the download includes two files, the first of 2 Gb, the second of 1.9 Gb. The second file is often hidden by Microsoft Edge for security. By overriding this security the second file appears and it can be downloaded

WOW!  I'm not even going to get into how stupid that is!  I swear Autodesk is getting as bad as Adobe with this stuff.  HOWEVER, they make good software so I won't complain any further.  After you follow the above link you have to use their virtual assistant (AVA) and if you pick JUST the right options you come to what is n the screenshot.  If it doesn't list the software you may have to download it first for your account manager to pick up on it.  Hope this helps!

Hello @mygamersinsanity,

One other thing to try -- make sure that a browser pop-up blocker is not preventing you from downloading the additional files. (I find that Firefox does this quite a bit when I download multiple files from my Autodesk Account.)

Please let us know if you need any more help!
