2015 Selection Tool is broken and Sizedependant and like a diva

Hi there!

I finally switch from 3dsmax 2014 design to 2015 design and the selection tool is completly broken and my workflow is also broken.

=-The selection-tool is size dependant and ignoring small objects if i zoom out (see my attachment and it happens 100% all the time)

its impossible to work in a usual way if u allways have to zoom in ten times and check and double check if u have all parts selected

i hope u have a solution or i need to get back to max 2014 wich worked like its supposed to work

i hope somebody can help me or u know a script or plugin that can fix this problem!

(i installed sp1 and sp2 and still no cure for the problem ;(  )

I have no idea if the solution (to a different issue) posted here will help, but it's worth a try.

Max 2016 (SP1/EXT1)
Win7Pro x64 (SP1). i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX11.
nVidia GTX760 (2GB) (Driver 430.86).

NitrousGraphicsManager.HardwareHitTestEnabled = false

Thanks for your help!! and Autodesk... pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease add this to your next Servicepack because the 3dsmax 2015 workflow is totaly broken with this option enabled 😉

Remember that the above solution will only affect the current session. To make it "permanent" you need that instruction as a Maxscript file in your Scripts/Startup folder:-
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\[version]\ENU\scripts\startup

Max 2016 (SP1/EXT1)
Win7Pro x64 (SP1). i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX11.
nVidia GTX760 (2GB) (Driver 430.86).

hehe of course!!! i directly created a new script for this in startup that will be now one of my "3dsmax-new-version-MUSThave" scripts..

same with the outputgamma=1.0 , old file menu and close infocenter forever.

the startup folder from the 3dsmax 2015 root directory (3dsmax2015/scripts/startup) is also working

anyway SUPER BIG THANKS!!! .. your reply was so laser fast that i couldnt believe it ;))

the viewport is not a single bit slower (770gtx) but now i can work peacefully again 😉

It`s not the viewport navigation that will be slower but selections in a complex scene.

But if your selections in a complex scene are wrong, what good does that do you?  Faster is not better if it's broken.

Who said that they are wrong? They are sizedependant like the original poster said. This doesn`t effect my workflow

because i usually zoom/navigate in to select objects in the scene.
