3dsMax2024 Set OCIO in Color Management.

OCIO默认.png

Renderer:Vray6.1 Set display color correction to OCIO in the frame window.

Local render correctly. But Incorrect rendering result after submitting to Backbuner. And display correction in the VRAY frame window is automatically switched back to sRGB.

Hello macong0520!

Can you please tell us whether the computers that are receiving the render job are using 3ds Max 2024?

For color management to work on a render network, all computers have to use 3ds Max 2024 since it is the only version with Color Management.

Best Regards,

Carlos

Ok, thank you. We are thinking that this could be a Vray issue since all the machines have matching 3ds Max versions, and you are using the default config file, there should be no issues when rendering on a network.

We will reach out to Chaos and see if they can help. I'd reccomend you do the same on their forums, perhaps they can provide an answer or a clue more quickly.

Best regards,

Carlos

Hi, I have the same issue with backburner. Is there any possible solution? This is very frustrating and it's making my whole workflow unusable after switching to max 2024.

Is there any update to this? I am using vray in max 2025 OCIO, Everything looks and renders great until I submit to backburner where apparently Color management is off!!

What is the correct workflow for using OCIO in max with Vray and backburner?

I've discovered that in my case, even though Backburner renders seemed like they disregarded my settings while rendering, they saved correctly. Also, at some point, this stopped happening alltogether after updating Vray I guess, but I haven't switched to 2025.

I would maybe upgrade with a bit of caution then. I was enjoying the ACES workflow with After Effects then to discover Backburner doesn't support color management is a huge blow. Its annoying that we hand over sooo much money to these guys for licences and still spend half out time trying to find solutions bugs and Issues 😠
