Switching from setup to animation mode shortens legs in CAT

When switching from setup to animation mode in CAT the rig's legs shorten?

I haven't added any animation on the first frame of the Animation layer (to clarify this is an Absolute layer). Additionally, I've tried taking it off and putting it back on again and the same thing happens. Not quite sure what to do, any help is greatly appreciated.

What version is your 3ds Max? I remember a bug like this in older versions but never seen it anymore.

Can you save a file so that I can take a look if the problem appears here as well?

My apologies for taking so long to respond. I am using Autodesk 2018 Student Edition for this project. Attached find the project file (minus the model itself)
