Is there a way to have an animation that ignores my biped skeleton?

Hello everyone,

I wanted to see if there was a way I could create an animation that ignores the Biped skeleton I had attached to my model?

At the moment I am making a transformer that I would like to have normal character animations like walking, attacking etc that uses a biped skeleton, but then also have a transforming animation that does not use the biped skeleton for it's animation, rather uses more mechanical animation techniques.

Is there a way to get all of this done in the same 3dsmax file?
