Imported BIP Stuck in Place

Hello,

I bought some models from an online 3D model shop for use in a short teaser for my game. These models already have BIP animations included; i just need to import what specific animation I need. However, I can't seem to move these models anywhere (specifically in this case, the x axis) because as soon as I load a BIP animation into the model, the model reverts back to its original place (I presume it's x=0,y=0,z=0).

What I want to do is to simply place a model in a specific x/y/z while its animating. I tried manually changing the x axis coordinates for each frame (so that the model would stay there while its animating) but somehow the animation looked weird.

It seems like there's a very simple solution for this that I still couldn't figure out. I would say that despite using Max for so long i am still at the beginner-mid level -- i can animate rigged models (as it's my line of work) but loading ready-made BIPs and having problems like this get me stuck.

Thank you!

Create a shape, align it to Bip01, but set z to 0. Goal is to have something below character's feet.

Link Bip01 to this shape.
Position and rotate character using this shape.

This worked! The solution was indeed too simple and I couldn't even figure it out. Thank you!
