Spline with SplineIK and Sweep modifier with animated SplineIK helpers.

For animation UV you can use UVW Xform (changing offset value)

Thanks. I've tried SplineIK, but I can't seem to get the right balance of bones/dummies to maintain the straight portion at either end. I've attached a screenshot of the shape I need to get.

You just need proper position of bezier handles, I think...

Weird. I just cannot seem to get it to work. How many bones and helpers are you using?

I've attached my attempts with two and three points. max 2020
