Does anyone use 3ds max's USELESS animation layers???

So, I have created different animation layers for few of the control objects but they somehow gets connected or something. If I rename one through the motion panel the other layer gets renamed too. I have no idea what is going on?

For example, let's say I have two controls one for the head and one for the hand. I create an animation layer for the head and rename that layer 'Head animation layer'. Mind you I haven't created any animated layers for the Hand control yet, but when I look under the Motion Panel the 'Head animation layer' appears in it.

Is this even usable?

I created one Animation Layer, but inside the Motion Panel all the other animation layers from the other controls got inside this control object somehow. 3ds max seems very unstable.

As we can see there are two animation layers the base and another one on top of it, but in the motion panel there are several  with the same name.

And, here we can see the 'animation layer' named 'Chest_CTRL_01' which I created for the Chest control although appears in the animation layer doesn't even show up on the 'motion panel' and is not visible in the curve editor. either.

I created one layer, and it created three on it's own.

Since you manage to find any written trace about this...

Add anim. layer just to the top of hierarchy (or part of).

All children will get that layer.

Unfortunately you will see that layer only in top of hierarchy layer list in anim. layers tool

What you have is when select and add layer to multiple obj. in (same) hierarchy.

Unfortunately (again) that is not only nor mayor bug in Anim. Layers.

CAT system have working anim. layers.

Bip have its own, didn't really tested it...
