CAT bones distort after adding ABS layer and toggling animation mode

Anonymous
Not applicable

I've been following a Pluralsight tutorial on CAT rigging, and have reached the point where the rig is nearly complete. Before adding gizmos, animation mode does not show any problems. After adding gizmos, when I enter animation mode the bones skew all weird.

With the controllers there, I can't freeze the transformations. Please tell me what I'm missing.

Hello,

Have you applied any non-uniform scaling to objects in your scene that you've parented together and/or are trying to rig? Doing this can often mess up your animation when you starting moving the objects in a hierarchy -- objects will start rotating or skewing strangely.

If this is the case (and I'm sorry I have to suggest this), can you do a Reset XForm on all your objects and then re-rig them?

Please let us know if this helps.

Best regards,
