Biped goes all wonky/"drunk" wobble after frame-rate change - Max 2024.2.5

I've got a simple walking biped character that works fine at 30fps, however, my target output is only 12fps and when I change the time settings within Max, the character goes all wobbly and wonky (see attached).

Any thoughts on how to best approach this situation and resolve the issue?

Thanks!

Hm. Biped is special, it has its very own controllers and key framing system.

What happens if you check "Adjust keys" right next to the "Custom" parameter in the Time Configuration dialog?

I appreciate your suggestion, Martin, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to have any effect (see attached).

OK, was worth a try...

How about exporting your animation to .bip, changing the frame rate and then loading the animation again?

This should bring up a "Frame Rate Change" dialog like shown here?

I tried several different tests with exporting and re-importing, but continued to run into the issue intermittently.

However, I did find that going into Motion Mixer and re-importing the same bip again would resolve the issue and "sober up" the actor, at least in the currently open instance of the scene.

It seems like there's a 50/50 chance of the bip going wonky again when reopening that same scene later.

Sounds like a bug worth reporting to Autodesk, ideally with the .max file.
