What are the file output formats for 3ds Max? Does 3ds Max work with Adobe Acrobat Pro and Tetra4D work software for their file output formats to 3D PDFs? If not, what software does?

Several years ago someone on my team did a project using Tetra4D creating a 3D PDF.  It took some work getting the model prepped and small enough to export, but the result worked.  The model was embedded into a PDF and could be moved and rotated in the document.  This was about eight to ten years ago as I recall.

Thank you for this feedback. It is a very enabling tool for downstream stakeholders of engineering drawings. I cannot count how many times an Aircraft Mechanic came into the onsite Liaison Eng. office to ask a question, the drawing they were working to not adequate for the task, then pulling up the Mock-Up and his questions were answered. We would send 3D PDFs out using CATIA as our primary CAD tool. And now I in a similar situation where I want to enable our customers with the use of 3D PDFs with ACAD as my primary tool, unfortunately we use both tools where I work, not ideal. Feeding the 2D cuts and views from CATIA and importing them into ACAD. A lot of work, and not ideal.
