[ FlexSim 20.1.1 ]

Our company using Internet Explorer Version 11.1158. In the past, we were able to view your user manual. Today, we are no longer able to view your on line Users Manual with our internet browser. Is Flexsim going to rectify this problem?

Hi @John B2,

Internet Explorer is an out-of-date web browser that has not kept up with new features offered by today's latest web standards. Sites that rely on newer web standards released after Internet Explorer development ended in 2016 will have a degraded experience.

From this article:

Stop using Internet Explorer, warns Microsoft's own security chief

Microsoft's own security chief has warned millions of people who continue to use Internet Explorer as a default web browser are placing themselves in "peril".
The company, which first developed Internet Explorer in 1995, is no longer supporting new development for the web browser. Continued use of the software was potentially risky, according to Chris Jackson, Microsoft’s worldwide lead for cyber security.
“We’re not supporting new web standards for it and, while many sites work fine, developers by and large just aren’t testing for Internet Explorer these days,” Mr Jackson said.
Though a number of websites currently work on Internet Explorer, new apps will not be integrated into the service, limiting the web applications available.
A number of firms have opted to continue using Internet Explorer as their websites are dependent on its underlying infrastructure.
"We want you to use IE for the sites that need it - what I'm trying to say here is that I hope you don't use it for everything else,” Mr Jackson said in a comment on the blog post.

FlexSim, along with Microsoft, recommends that you upgrade to a modern, standards-compliant browser like Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and others.

You will find that other FlexSim websites, and other websites in general, will work faster and better in a modern browser than they do in Internet Explorer, which as explained above is not getting any new development on it, just barebones maintenance since 2016.

In addition, FlexSim's User Manual is available within the FlexSim software regardless of your default internet browser.

When you press the "Open this topic in an internet browser" button, it still works to render that page in Internet Exporer 11, just like FlexSim always has.

To my knowledge, the new docs.flexsim.com site has never worked with IE 11, so you aren't losing any functionality that you had before. You just don't have access to the new online User Manual in an old out-of-date browser.

But all the advice below about upgrading to a newer browser still applies. 🙂
