Hi everyone,

does anyone knows if there is a render farm to use with Vred scenes?

i found various services for 3dsmax, cinema4d and others, but no services for Vred.

do you mean a cloud service or a proper setup for a render farm?

imho, a cloud service for Vred could have an initial cost that does not justify the expense:

1. to run a render cloud farm you need a professional license, which has a very high cost

2. vred it's somehow a niche (in terms of market) software, while max etc are used on a variety of different worlds (rendering, general cgi, animation, gaming, architecture, design etc.)

but that's just my not documented view 🙂

Thank you @cikho for your answer.

What i mean is a cloud service. I know that i can setup a render cluster using Vred professional and \or Vred cluster nodes.

If I had the need to render each day i could setup my farm, but i need to do it only few times in a year, so it would be very expensive.

So if there is the chance to occasionally use a cloud farm, for me it would be the best option.

There are not any that I know of. I remember speaking to the vred team about it quite a while ago. They have a consulting team think you had to spend a minimum amount in order to have them do renderings with them. Some absurd cost like $100,000. But this was back in say 2012.

You would need Vred Render Node licenses to just render within a "farm" environment. They have to be bought via a reseller. The issue is you cannot purchase them monthly. Only annual. For a short terms farm solution it would be better if they offered a month to month license. Think that is the minimum they would do. Obviously it would be better if they offered shorter times like a week or a day. Or even by the hour/minute with a online usage based licensing model. Or maybe a bundle of vred rendering hours within the Thinkbox Deadline Market Place etc.

It will be a very good option!!

I know all the license type (I'm an italian Autodesk Reseller) but for my customers the cost of render node license is to much.

Ah maybe as a reseller you can request it better than I can. Say your customers are looking for shorter term rendering purchasing solutions 🙂
