datasmith vred export

Hi to all, today I found that "datasmith" for unreal has a plugin "Datasmith for VRED" does somebody know about that, I can´t find it on neither homepage.

This is completely done by epic, the VRED team has nothing to do with it. We are not even aware of what it actually does except that it adds a script to VRED for a menu entry and probably uses fbx to export stuff.

ok I understand. I made some research and fund a Autodesk help page which describes the general aproach to implement the script.

I have VRED Design. If I understand right only VRED Professional accepts scripts?

This woud be a question as well to handle the setup for HTC Vive goggles.

Yes, only VRED Pro has scripting capabilites. VRED Design can only execute scripts embedded in a VBP but you can´t edit them.

hi, what does it mean "embedded in a VBP" if I place a scrpit in the dedicated folder can I call it somhow?

No, embedded means the script is stored inside the VPB from a VRED Pro. You need a VRED Pro to author scripts in VRED.

Ok thanks for the update. I would kindly ask to create some presets I could use as a VRED-Design owner in order set up the HTC Vive more efficently as described in the documentation.
