Hi,

Is there a way to replace the default avatars when collaborating with custom mesh/maya ones?

or a local directory where the avatars are located

Hello,

Go to this location and replace the standard meshes with your custom avatar.

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\VREDPro-15.0\data\Internal\VR\Avatar
