Can't explode multiple items with script file

Is there a way to explode multiple items with a script file. If I type EXPLODE, AutoCAD prompts "Select Objects:". If I put EXPLODE in a script, it says "Select Object:"

Dumb questions time:
1) why are you using a script? Are you an LT user?
2) any reason you don't like to select your objects first then just run EXPLODE command (typed or the clickable button that already exists)? Or are you trying to explore EVERYTHING in the file?

If you have AutoCAD and not LT then you can run on Previous selected objects in a script to explode them:

(vl-load-com)(vla-Sendcommand(vla-Get-ActiveDocument(vlax-Get-Acad-Object))"_.Explode\rP\r\r")

I need to use a script because it's created with a copy/paste from Excel for each project. Selecting multiple objects and running explode in the script wasn't working.

Another solution is to use the (initcommandversion) prior to the explode call.

(defun c:ExplodeMultiple ( / s)

  (if (setq s (ssget "_:L"))
    (progn
      (initcommandversion)
      (command "_.explode" s "")))
  (princ)
  )
