fire alarm devices auto numbering

Hi,

My english is not good and i am beginer level in auto cad..i am not familier with lisp.

I have a drawing which has 1000 smoke detector devices. and each device should have number by sequence, starting from 1 and continue. and in future if i remove one device this all chain of numbers should automatticaly arrange .is it possible by lisp? when i copy paste new block number should change.... if yes please let me know in easy words and step by step...

Hy i am not 100 positve but here , smoke detector got a Linenumber and an device Number and they are fix because you dont want do a renumbering them in the Bulding cu cw

Thanks for reply .i already read this post but cannot understand .sure this my solution but i am not expert level.so i want step by step..if some one make block and tag for me it will be easy for me.i will use lisp and block copy paste

I made a small screen capture for you.

I don't know what is the correct shape of Alarm Device Mark. I used a rectangle.
Numbering is in order that objects were created!!!

In the video I used some shortcuts of my own COPY, ROTATE, MOVE... You will notice where... Sorry about that... just use the regular commands.
Sorry for misspelling "alarm"...

There is another way - a professional package dedicated for design of low voltage installations (especially fire alarm) - WarAn.

It can automatically number detectors, insert (or remove) detectors and re-number them, add additional description, and draw a block scheme.

If your happy with numbering based on creation order then its easy via a lisp, the second method a bit more complex sorts the objects based on their number order and renumbers them based on start number and increment. I did something recently maybe not here.

Post a dwg need to see your alarm.
