    <description>&lt;P&gt;You would&amp;nbsp;probably be out of luck, if you had to do it with VBA/COM API.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;OTH, if you do it with AutoCAD .NET API, it would be easy, because in .NET API, you can obtain an MText object via AttributeReference of a BlockReference and manipulate the MText as you need. Another small reason of giving up VBA &lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":disappointed_face:"&gt;😞&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have some existing blocks with Attributes defined as MTextAttributes.&amp;nbsp; I want to be able to toggle, at will, on and off, the background mask.&amp;nbsp; Any one have a snippet of code showing how to do this?&amp;nbsp; (Mtext uses BackgroundFill, but I can't figure out the equivalent for MTextAttributes)&lt;/P&gt;</description>
