Is it possible, in a distributed application
written in Visual Basic 6.0, to plot drawings
when the users may not have AutoCAD on their
system?
Thanks for any help.
You could probably use Volo View to view and Plot dwg/dxf/dwf files.
Please visit
Volo View Express is, but will not allow you to automate plotting.
We use a utility called 'Plot Pack Spooler' available at http://ftp.mcneel.com/ftp/pub/util/ . It queues and plots .plt files and does not require AutoCAD to be installed. It's free and reliable, but you can't view the drawings. -Walter

Even though VVE does not allow for batch processing does not mean that you
can't write an application that simply uses VVE as an engine for plotting.
You would essentially be creating the batching part.
All you can do with VVE Express is call the ShowPrintDialog, which opens the
standard Windows print dialog box. That certainly wouldn't do for a batch
plotting program.
Do you know of any methods that allow you to plot without any user
interaction?
