Defined Custom Views in Vault Explorer

We use Vault Basic 2022.

I had some custom views in my vault explorer. A couple weeks ago my boss switched servers, and we needed to start logging into a new server which is all fine. But, after that I just noticed my custom views were missing.

I found this link:

I have went to the specified location, copied the .xml files from the original server version, and pasted them into the same spot on the new server folder structure. I have closed and re-launched vault, but it has the same default views listed.

Any Ideas?

Hey Brad, how are you? When you copied the files, did you edit them to include the new server name and IP?

I just kept the XML files the same names. and just pasted into ...Servers/new server folder/Vaults/vault name/Objects folder. They didn't have a unique name before either which is weird because all that was in the old location was:

GridState.xml

ViewStyles.xml

FrequentlyUsedFields.xml

So I had copied and pasted all 3 to the new location.

I am curious if I need to grab the "FilterConfig.xml and GridConfiguration.xml" files that sit at the same level as the Objects folder?

Before putting the files in that Folder, make sure the client is closed. If you did it while the client was open, upon closing the Vault client, the files would have gotten overridden.

So while the Vault client is closed.

Paste the two XML files into the new folder location.

Launch the client.

Ah, that was it, I did have the client open DOH!!!

Do you think I need the "FrequentlyUsedField.xml" If not, where did that come from?

The client would have created that file on close. I would leave it alone.
