Job Processor Job Content and Trigger details

Hi all,

I'm trying to get a deeper understanding of how the Vault Job Processor works under the hood, specifically:

What exactly triggers each standard job type?
What does each job really do in detail?
Is there any way to trace back a job to the action or event that caused it?

So far, all I can find is the documentation here:

…but that only provides a very high-level summary. It doesn't specify when or how they are triggered.

What I’m really looking for is a clear mapping between Vault actions (e.g. check-in, lifecycle transition, category rule, etc.) and the jobs they trigger.

Right now, it feels like the job queue is a black box — jobs just show up with minimal context, and it’s hard to explain to users or diagnose automation behavior.

I've already looked at:

The Job Queue in Vault — it shows the job type, status, and payload, but no info about the exact (kind of trigger)
The Job Processor logs — these occasionally mention when a job is enqueued, but they don’t always clearly tie it to a specific user or action.
The Job Processor.exe.config file — helpful to see what jobs are registered, but not when or how they’re triggered.

I could decompile the dlls, but that doesn't seem the most efficient approach. Willing to do it, if it turns out to be the only way.

Has anyone built tools, workflows, or logging methods to get more transparency here? Or is there an internal Autodesk reference for job triggers that’s just not publicly documented?
