Point Vault to different licensing manager

We are changing the location of the Flex LM. We know we have to get all new licenses because the MAC address changed on the new server.

But, how to you change the workstations to point to the new server without re-installing the software.

This applies to VP 2012, 2013, and 2014.

I see there is a .lic file for 2014, but not sure about the other releases.

Backup the current .lic file on your vault server and then use a text editor like notepad and change the syntax to the new server information.

SERVER <server name or IP address> <number> <number> (don't change the number information)

Just in case you didn't know... Grabbing vault license (from FLEX LM) are done at the vault server level and not at the user's machine like AutoCAD and Inventor are.

We were thinking that each client had a .lic file, but it appears that the login goes to the ADMS server which then tells the client where to go to grab a license.
