Hi, I was using Metaphase and Teamcenter in the past and there were dedicated workflow objects that contained the to-be-released item revisons. We could easily query for a specific change notice and see all related revs,

Dear Forum,

we use Vault Professional 2023 as PDM system. We are currently trying to find a way how to create a sort of as-built documentation with specific revisions of assys and drawings in one folder.

e.g. Assy1 Rev2 had been used at release point 1 so I would create a folder called Release Point 1 and try to link this specific rev to the folder. But as the system only lets me select the latest rev I can't drag and drop rev 2 into the folder. I always see the highest rev.

Do you guys know a clever way to do this or a more clever way of labelling item revs? In other PLM systems you could add the revs to a workflow item or a release folder or something like that. In Vault I don't see anything comparable.

Thanks for your help

Ralf

Can you mention the other PDM system that permits this and what it's called there? There are reporting tools in Vault to get information on parent/children and release bias related information. Creating folders to capture this information seems redundant and will likely create more overhead and performance woes.
