Thanks, Neil. Now I have a good reason that it can't be done. Some folks just are not satisfied with "No".

I plan to make a stop at 2014 and then go to 2016. I was working with a VM to test the upgrade process. However, I got stuck at 2014 because the VM could not be upgraded to Windows Server 2012. My understanding is 2016 will not run under Windows Server 2008 R2.

Is it possible to add a comment to a previous version of a part or assembly in the Vault? I don't believe it is possible but the need has come up so I thought I would ask.

Currently running Vault Basic 2012 with plans to move to 2016 later this fall.

Thanks for any input.

Nope definitely can't be done, if that could be done the audit capabilities of Vault would be compromised so it's something that probably won't ever be permitted.

On a side note, when you do move to 2016 make sure you research the process (if you haven't already) as you'll need to bounce through another version before you can go to 2016.
