Hi Stancescu,
What is the error message the users in California get then?
Are they logged out of their Vault Client when they are connected to the Subscriber in California?
This would be very odd.
I see you are already working with Support on this and this is the way to go as there are many factors we might not all solve in a forum thread and might need to have a remote session as well.

Hello,

I need some clarification in how Publisher and Subscriber work/communicate together. In our environment, database and file store are replicated to Subscriber. This (Subscriber) is located in a different country.

If I intentionally shut down the Publisher, there are no issues with the Subscriber, people can connect to their Vault without any issues. If network is unexpected lost at the Publisher site then Subscriber doesn’t function anymore and people cannot connect to it. What should be done so Subscriber still be alive when Publisher goes off unexpected?

I appreciate any idea you may have.

Thank you

radu

Hi Radu,
Here you find information about connected workgroups:
http://help.autodesk.com/view/VAULT/2017/ENU/?guid=GUID-88084E18-7071-4BD3-8221-E51DBCA1195A

Without the concrete error message I would not try to guess what could be happening.
If you can provide more information it would be good.

Hi Johannes,

Here you have the steps:

- We cut the network connection in Oregon (where the Publisher is located) around noon so people are not affected

- In California (Subscriber) people haven't noticed as they were at lunch

- While network is still down in Oregon, users in California came back from lunch and couldn't connect to their local server (Subscriber)

- In a few minutes Internet connection was up in Oregon, everything was working in California.

After a few days, we tested this:

- Around noon, we manually shut the Publisher down in Oregon

- Users in California never noticed anything, they were able to connect to their local server (Subscriber) without any issues

So we're trying to understand what triggers the Subscriber to freeze when network connection is down inexpertly at the Publisher site.

You are correct, I'm working with someone of the support group. I will update here as soon as I get news.

Back to your question, users couldn't log in because the server was not available.
