Funny we talked about that when it was first reported but I never checked it.. In the end they are not using ECOs and the notification was already enabled. But thanks for the idea.

So, notifications are enabled, but on the ADMS side, is email enabled? Maybe there are no regular queries being made to and from the server, so the connection is timing out. Although, it would seem that this would affect all of the users. Maybe this one is less active than the others? More prone to time outs?

At this point this given user is getting this message on Vault Pro 2016 (Build #21.1.4.0) and its random. I was informed by a Vault expert this usually means the Vault license was idle (no activity) to long , it was returned and there was no license for the user to grab (thus the user gets logged out). However when we reviewed the license manager log file and the logs from the Vault there's no denied around the time the message appeared. I know this message popup in the past with 2010/2011 Vault and there was a service pack to resolve the issue. But I haven't see anything for 2016.

No other user reports this but it may also be they just live with the message. But when it happens the user reports the client seems to be asleep when they try to get back in and have to wait until it wakes up. Not sure what they mean by this because I haven't witness the issue. Also in some cases, the activity of this user's license is out/in within matter of seconds but the user is not doing that except when it sits idle/no activity.

Thoughts?

Update: Some additional info.. Server build # is the same. All clients are hard wired. No unusually behavior/activity in log files. They have a job processor going but this user's machine is not assigned this duty.

Is this user set up to receive Vault ECO notifications? The connection timeout in 2017 is still set, by default, to 1000 seconds (16.5 minutes-ish) of inactivity. However, if Vault ECO notifications are set to on, there is never an inactive period because the client queries the server at least every ten minutes for any new notifications. This is something a user can turn on or off. View Menu, ECO Notification... it's just a toggle.
