Check-in to Vault problem

Good Day!

I am having Vault check-in problems, please see the attached .PNG file. What am I doing wrong? What can I do to avoid this? In other words, HELP!!

Do you need to create DWF upon Check in? If not you can disable that option:

In the Vault Client, you should show the hidden files in the Vault Client Options dialog.

Look for this file in the same folder as the part file and see what is happening. It may be checked out or locked.

Good Morning!

The file in question is MEA-1000984.idw. If you look at the attachment, you will see that there are three different MEA-1000984.idw.dwf files. One has the correct date (6/13/2004 17:52) and the other two have the identical date (4/28/2024 13:59). Please also note that one has the icon indicating "unknown status". Could the file with "unknown status" be the problem? Should I delete both the files dated 4/28/2024 13:59? Is there another solution? What is the .dwf file function?

Those DWF files are not the ones causing the error.

In the client, go to Tools -> Options and check the box next to Show hidden Files.

Then look for the DWF file that has the same name as shown in the original check-in error.

I thought the client was Vault, apparently (much to my chagrin) I don't know what the "client" is. Can you please enlighten me?

I'm glad to hear I was thinking the right thing. SO, I did set the option to show hidden files and my last screenshot is what's there. The only .dwf that could be causing this problem is the file with the "Unknown Status" icon showing. I tried to delete the unknown status .dwf file and received the error message "Are you sure you want to permanently delete 'MEA-1000984.iam.dwf' and all it's versions?". I did not delete the file.

Thanks for the clarification. The unknown status icon indicates that you have that DWF file locally and it doesn't know the status of it. That would not have caused the error.

On this DWF file, in the Properties grid, does it show Hidden True?

I'm sorry, you must think I'm mentally challenged. I was retired for two years and I'm trying to catch up with Inventor, a lot has changed in two years. I don't understand what you are asking or where to get that information. Thanks for your patience!

Select the DWF file. Then in the Properties Grid, see if the Hidden property has a True or False value.

Both of the .dwf files dated 4/28/2024 13:59 have a "true" hidden property

I don't recommend deleting the idw.dwf file just yet.

You need to talk to whoever manages your Vault server and have them check the server logs for this error.

I think something else on the server side is causing this problem.

Looking at your image again, I see these two DWF files should not be checked out.

Can you do an undo checkout of these files and try again?

It doesn't matter if those two files are checked-out or checked-in, all of the .dwf files in that directory show hidden true.
