I have not tried it myself but as far as I know extra mappings or column without a mapping should not present a problem for the update. You can try that through Update Properties in the addin as well.

is it possible to use more than 1 Revision Table in Vault? I didn´t find a solution for that.

Vault 2015 Build 19.2.2.0 Update 2

We looking for a way to use 2 different Revision Tables with different Attributes. I know how its possbile to use 2 or more Borders, Titleblocks and so on.

Any ideas?

We need more information. Can you give us an example of what properties you want to show in these different revision tables, and why? Also, what CAD software are you trying to do this with? (Inventor? AutoCAD?)

@cbenner

now my details:

we use Vault for Inventor and AutoCAD.

we use Vault in Germany and in UK, both have its own safes but replications to each other. That means

In Germany we have safe1 and the Replication of UK (safe2)

In Uk we have safe1 and the Replication of Germany (safe2)

IN UK, they need 5 columns

Rev No. (system prop)

Description (system prop)

Date (system prop)

Designer (last modified by UDP)

Approved by ( System prop)

but in germany we do not need the designer property.

now we are looking for are way to merge both safes to one. to use library and contentcenter parts in both and much more criterias.

that means we need 2 revision tables which filled out by vault in one safe.

i didnt find a way to do this. because i cannot define 2 revision tables with different Attributes. isnt it?

So im looking for way like the titleblocks, that i can use more than one titleblock with different attributes.

Thanks for help

The revision table columns are actually defined in Inventor. You can use "Style and Standard Editor" to change them. What vault defines is the mapping between these columns and vault properties. If I remember correctly vault will not add or remove columns using these mappings. So you can have different columns for UK and German and they should work fine with same set of vault mappings.

Hm, but i think the jobprocessor will run an error than, if he didn´t fint the columns, whats defined in the Mappings

thank you for your response.

ok so you think it doen´t matter how much columns i have defined in my mappings table, I have defined 5 columns, but use only 4, so the jobprocessor do the job well? i have to check this.

And second question, how can i add 2 Revision Tables in my Inventor Enviroment or AutoCAD ?

i will Insert the Revision Tables through the Standard way. In Inventor trough the Annotation Tab in the Ribbon -> Vault-Revision

And in AutoCAD trough the VLTREVBLOCK Command. Where are the RevisionTables linked?

Thanks so far

If you want multiple tables in the same application, you can do that using the same insert command. If you want different tables in Inventor and AutoCAD, you can customize it in respective application. The system doesn't sync table format among applications.

Hi @cbenner
Thats absolut clear, but what i want is to know if its possible to use 2 different Tables in One Application with zur Standard Insert function trough zur Ribbon. Its clear that i cant Import different Revision Tables aß an Block in AutoCAD, but we want use standard function. And i thought that there is a possibility to add multiple different Revision Tables anyhow ans Anywhere an when i Click in vault-Revision in Inventor trough Ribbon a selectionlist should come würde the user can choose zur correct Table for specific drawing.
And where is the path to the One and only Revision Table saved? The should be a path to the vaac_revision.dwg isnt it?

If I am reading your last reply correctly (some German got in), I would have to say that the answer is no. You want to be able to have 2 predefined tables set up in Inventor, and 2 predefined in AutoCAD? No, one at a time per application.

What you can do ( I believe) is go through the Table setup each time you want to use one of them, and add whatever properties you need for THAT drawing. Then on the next drawing, either use the same properties again, or go back to the setup and change them for THAT drawing.

I have not tried this, so I am not sure it will work.
