Although you are talking about Inventor project here, this is not a Inventor issue. You need to use the Autodesk Vault forum for this. I will have the moderator relocate your posting to better suit your needs.

Yes you can have a common / global IPJ.

Check it into the vault ... and have them "get it" and use it ...

@Anonymous

Not sure why you are posting twice about this.. But again its a Vault issue and not Inventor (use the Vault forum). Are you sure the user has their Vault working folder in the correct location? A global project file should not be checked out by anyone. It should be checked out by the Vault admin (and left checked out) so others can't change it/check it back in. In addition if the user hasn't checked out the project file, they just can't replace it. One more thing.. When you do a get, make sure the user is not checking it out either..

Update: In addition are you guys enforcing the Inventor project file within Vault?

Hello,

It sounds like Inventor still has the file active as Vault is trying to copy down the version from the Vault. I would go into Inventor and temporarily make another project the active project. At this point in time, go to Vault and perform a get operation on the desired project file. This should bring it down to your Vault Workspace. Go back to Inventor and make this project file your active project.

Thanks,
