Job Processor 2020 persistent and unjustified errors

Since February the Job Processor stopped generating PDFs; il always reports: "An error appears when exporting the file. Try again"

No matter what vault you're logged in, no matter what server you're using, no matter which network you're in.

On the same Vaults with 2019, it works prefectly...smell like a bug or something

Server OS - WS2016 EN

ADMS - 2020 EN

Client W10 10.0.17763 build 17763 ITA

PDF is created for Which files? AutoCAD DWG, Inventor DWG or IDW?

Job processor does not even log onto Windows...and still reports error on the queue

Thanks for the information. I suspect this is some install/registration issue with Inventor Server. So few things to try.

1. Can you please send the logs from C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk Vault Job Processor.

2. Also can you please try repair/reinstall Vault client on a machine to see if that helps?

Hi Senthil, here resutls:

1. folder is empty

2. no effect

what is really serious is that it happened on 5 different clients in 5 different environments.

Common property: Vault 2020; issue reported since mid february

Vault is using ‘Microsoft Enterprise Library 6.0’ version starting Vault 2020.1 update. Please update the version from ‘4.0.0.0’ to ‘6.0.0.0’ in the following sections of the ‘JobProcessor.exe.config’ file, for the job processor logging to work. This file can be found in 'C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Vault Professional 2020\Explorer' folder. Please note other applications/tools such as Connectivity.VaultPro.exe will require similar updates as above – if user want to enable the application specific logging.

Hi Johannes, the fix worked out for logging, thank you; the error still persists. The error is somehow unreadable to me although I use to see it when something wrong occur on ilogic when accessing a file...

Can you check if the jobprocessor user is able to create c:\temp folder on the local disk of the jobprocessor?

I would suggest you open a support case to look into this deeper.

As mentioned it is generally working, so it needs to be an environmental issue.

When you start Job Processor 2020 on a different machine is it working then?

Hi Johannes, no; I had the same issue on one of my colleague's PC and by one of our customer on 3 clients.

what is critical is that it stopped after a while...

use the Inventor and not Inventorserver.

I have encountered this and other errors on a couple of new 2020 set up and by the look of this thread it looks like 2020.3 might address it

In the meantime, if the option to use Inventor is available, does that mean that Inventor would have to be registered and licensed, correct?

The use of Inventor Server is very attractive to a lot of clients since an additional Inventor license is not required/needed
