Hi Matt.

Im not sure about what you are specifically asking, as I’ve never tried that, but I have worked with AcadE and markups in the past. What we did was to check in the .wdp from AcadE, and as expected all associated files would check in along with it. We then assigned an Item to the .wdp file. That created an Item with all of the associated .dwg files and all of the project support files. This made it easier to manage state changes and revisions across an entire electrical project, and we were able to do individual markups on the .dwf files for the drawings.

it does sort of force you into using Items, but even if you only used them for AcadE projects, it might make that a bit easier. Possibly something to consider?

Hi everyone,

We have just recently incorporated the new standard data folder/file format within Vault.

We predominately use the the multi-sheet format for our wiring schematics which can be in excess of 100 .dwg's, linked to the over arching .wdp file. It has been tricky for our engineers to review individual drawings in pdf after approval, for any mark-ups which come through later in the project. With this in mind and we have opted to combine the project in ACADE and then upload this to vault as a combined pdf, which can be reviewed for mark up purposes.

The question we have is this:

Is it possible to use the design review mark-up function for AutoCAD Electrical schematics seen within Vault? I understand it can be used on individual drawings. But, if the drawings where combined as a .dwf then put into vault would it then show across the .dwg's also if it was opened by another user?

Thanks - Matt

First, I should have asked what kind of Vault are you using? Basic, Workgroup or Professional.

Items are available only in Vault Professional.
