After installing VP2022.3 update AVFS server will not automatically replicate

Gang...just realized today that after about 3 weeks our AVFS server is not automatically getting files from the main server.

I have it set to replicate from main server every 2 hours.

If I attempt to access a file from Project Explorer on the ADMS, I get prompted to replicate and it replicates.

But, if I attempt to view/open a file from items or CO tabs....I can't view the file or even get a warning to replicate.

Looking at ADMS, it says that the last replication took place on the same day that I installed the 2022.3 patch.

If we attempt to access a file it will prompt for us to manually replicate and that works fine. Just no automatic replication to AVFS from or forced replication from ADMS.

Also, AVFS to main server appears to be working as expected.

Anybody else having issues?

Hi Steve,

Can you check the Server Tasks list and the console logs on the AVFS to see if it shows errors?

Also, verify that the Job Dispatch service is running on the server.

Checked the service and it was running and no errors.

I forced a replication yesterday afternoon and it appears that it ran.

I also made a change to the "Manage Replication Priority Window". There was not a priority server set on the AVFS or Main Server ADMS. I added those. All files are replicated now.

Not sure that either was the problem.

Just curious, what does setting the priority do? We only have two servers connected to each other. Not sure this was ever set.

I think it had more to do with the replication schedule. It's like it was stuck. I am replicating every two hours on the AVFS and this morning I went in and changed the scheduled time to run, did not change the interval...... just for the heck of it. As soon as I changed the start time, the replication ran and the Last replication went from 4/24 to todays date. Even after the forced replication took place yesterday (I knew it ran because I had 9 Gb of date and a slue of files that were not replicated), but the Last Replication" date still said 4/24".

As soon as I changed the scheduled time, it appears to be running as expected again.

So, I think we are good, will monitor and let you know.

Interesting. I agree that it just got stuck for some reason.

Since you only have two servers, you shouldn't need to set replication priority.

Let's say you have 5 servers, you can set which of the servers to replicate from in priority order. We would recommend replicating from the server that is the fastest to communicate to first and then the other servers.

FYI...Appears that the scheduler was some how stuck until I changed the replication time, did not change the interval.

After two days AVFS is now getting files from ADMS as expected.

I see the thread is pretty old and marked as solved yet I'd like to know whether you've an actual/latest update for AVFS2022 installed (on all your workgroups)?

For example there is an update AVFS 2022.0.1 (sorry I don't have a direct download link for it but I do have an Autodesk_VaultFileServer_2022.0.1_Update.exe itself).

PS:
Unfortunately I don't know whether 0.1 it is the latest update for AVFS2022.

I know we had 2022.3 update installed. I can't really tell you what was going on.

All I know is that I just changed the replication time and it started working as expected.

We are now on 2023.2.1.

Judging by corresponding help page there are quite a bit of fixes since 2023.2.1 to current 2023.3.1 (including PDM-38530 that is replication-related).

Worth updating isn't it?

I don't like making recommendations for other's environments, but we always try to be on latest version/update. But, before doing so, I always test in an identical test environment before performing the update in our production environment.
