Creation of New Database

Hello Guys,

Just moving to Vault Customization from AutoCAD/Inventor/Revit.

One clarification needed

SQL Server is installed during the installation of VAULT 2014.

Vault Database is then created during the installation

Can i create a new database/schema on the same SQL Server installed by VAULT by not altering or modifying Vault Database.

In general, if you are developing a database application you should use your own instance so that you are isolated from Vault.

You can create your own databases in the AUTODESKVAULT instance, but Vault will not be aware of them so the ADMS-Console will not backup/restore them. If there are any problems you may need to detach, or rename them.

Do not create your schema/tables in a database used by Vault as that will render the installation unsupportable.
